Account "Collections" Manager


Reports to: Store Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

This Job Description defines minimum standards of performance and skills required to function as an Account Manager (AM). Also referred to as “Collections Manager”. In addition to these minimum standards, each AM must be willing to identify and perform tasks which contribute to the overall mission of the Rent-2-Own business and its relationship with our valued customers. * This position is accountable for managing a group of customer accounts and achieving established levels of revenue and collection rates. The AM must take direction from his or her Manager on late customers and then follow the procedures for managing the account immediately. * A continuing challenge for the AM is to maintain firm control over the late customers while providing a high level of customer service. * The AM must be able to communicate and use the knowledge of “The Program”, terms of the agreement, and legal collection requirements, as well as the product feature and benefits while working with the customers. * The AM must manage the paperwork and computer documentation associated with the customer’s accounts and will also deliver and retrieving products to and from the homes of our customers. * It should be noted to all prospective AM applicants, this task can sometimes create stressful situations. The ability to perform professionally as well as persistently is a strong business trait found within all successful Rent-2-Own Account Managers.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Satisfactory work record and attendance.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Willingness to work as a “Team Player”.
  • Prior Customer Service / Retail experience.
  • Valid State motor vehicle operator's license with evidence of safety and insurability within the guidelines of the insurer.
  • Ability to convey a positive and professional image to customers and employees.
  • Strong verbal communication, problem solving skills, writing, organizational, computer, internet, and phone skills.
  • Willingness to work within the policies, procedures, collections laws, and ethics established by the Company
  • Able to properly lift and repetitively maneuver all store products and equipment including but not limited to household furniture, appliances and electronics by using proper equipment and safe lifting techniques.
  • The ability to maintain and organize computer and paper files.
  • Must be dependable, reliable and mature enough to handle all types of monetary transactions, as well as other company assets such as equipment and vehicles in a safe and responsible and sensible manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintains complete knowledge and proper use of the Rent-2-Own “Rental Program” and “Customer Agreement “.
  • Maintains current knowledge of the account status of all assigned customers.
  • Is diligent in the development and training of customers to achieve “on time” payment habits.
  • Understands and can perform within the established Rent-2-Own collections system and procedures.
  • Delivers, installs and picks-up products to and from the customer's home as needed in a safe and damage free manner.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on delivery vehicles to ensure top and safe operating condition.
  • Safely operates the delivery vehicle following all laws, regulations and company procedures.
  • Cleans return products
  • Maintains a safe, clean, organized work area and conditions.
  • Assists in maintaining the sales floor and back room, ensuring that product is safe, clean, and working properly.
  • Follows all Company policies and procedures for customer approval standards, completing agreements, receiving monies and helping the store manager control inventory.
  • Assist the customers with rental order forms and conducting proper order form verifications.
  • Receives product into the store by following the proper inventory receiving and transfer procedures

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Can successfully log and produce correct customer termination documentation from the store computer.
  • Can efficiently enter and update customer information and payment transactions using the store computer.
  • Can successfully perform inventory entries and search product status with the store computer.
  • Attend weekly store Team meetings and recommended training.
  • Promotes the integrity and goodwill of the company throughout the business and residential community.
